Im a huge Grateful Dead and Phish fan, and Im looking for a really juicy envelope. Envelope controlled filters came into prominence in. but still i want to try with whatsoever available as VST. Hi all, I feel like I post an envelope filter thread every 6-months. The Maxon AF-9 Auto Filter pedal was originally introduced as a key component of analog synthesizers. The AF-9 does boost the signal a tiny tiny bit. At the time, to my ears, it sounded and reacted leagues better than the EH Q-tron and any Boss auto wah or envelope filter. Like the one of the most coveted early auto-wah pedals, the Mutron III, the AF-9 creates its effect via a CdS Photocoupler rather than a VCA, giving it a warm, vowel-like filtering that cannot be reproduced. It is pretty much a Mutron in a smaller box. PS: i have that kind of feeling like i will end up going for the real hardware pedal. The Maxon AF-9 Auto Filter is an analog envelope follower pedal that creates an automatic wah effect based on the player's pick attack. If the UAD's MOOG filter can't do that, maybe another VST recommendation / suggestion?. Soo, is it possible to achieve that with the current Moog Multimode filter plugin?Īsking that in here, because i have found almost nothing on youtube about the Moog Multimode Filter & guitar, no tutorials, no examples., most of the stuff is into synths, some sequenced bs and other almost-useless stuff. There are tons of demos out there for this pedal, so instead of making a demo or tutorial, I decided to make this video showcasing the few different ways I u. The Maxon AF9 Auto Filter takes the most desirable auto-wah and swept filter effects and offers them up in a compact, user-friendly package. The thing is i don't need the filter to automatically modulate the signal by tempo and/or in sync with BPM as many presets do in the Moog Multimode filter,īut i want it to be modulated in real time, reacting dynamically by input sensitivity as i pluck strings on the guitar just like the hardware pedals in the video. Guitarist extraordinaire Oz Noy demos the Maxon AF-9 Auto Filter and demonstrates its superior performance on both bridge and neck pickups. ![]() ![]() ![]() Is it possible to achieve with the MOOG Multimode Filter plugin an "auto filter/wah" effect on the guitar that sounds similar and / or better than the hardware pedal such as demonstrated below:Īnd there are a few other similar pedals like that. "auto filter / auto wah" like pedal on guitar with the MOOG Multimode Filter = ?
